Reports and studies

'To measure is to know' is what we call 'monitoring'. The Grenspark has about 40 expert, enthusiastic volunteers who work to locate and count birds, insects, amphibians and plants. They go out at set times (and often very early) to record these data. These counts are processed into reports, and subsequently used by policymakers.
Monitoring focuses mainly on indicator species. It is interesting to know whether the management measures taken have been sufficient to achieve the desired nature quality.
