Recreational cycling

Make kilometres in and around Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide

With the wind in your hair, the sun on your face and a picnic basket at the ready, cycle through and around Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide and its surroundings on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. That sounds good, right? Especially for recreational cyclists - in cooperation with the surrounding municipalities of Stabroek, Kalmthout, Essen and Woensdrecht - beautiful cycling routes have been mapped out on existing junctions

Discover the various cycling routes through the area

These routes - called gateway cycling loops - are each about 30 kilometres long. The starting point is always one of the four gates of the Grenspark. The routes show the very best spots of the area and the surrounding border municipalities. You will see both heath and forest, picturesque villages and endless countryside. A tour guarantees a solid dose of nature and culture and is never boring!

Want a longer tour?

The bike loops connect so that - if you still have energy - you can extend your tour. Along the way, you will come across all kinds of cosy cafés and restaurants for a well-earned cup of coffee, lunch or drinks. Enjoy the delicacies the region has to offer!

The leaflet with the four gate cycling loops is on sale at Visit Kalmthout, Onthaalcentrum 'De Tasberg' and the Grenspark hosts.
