Two countries - one nature

Thatnature does not think or grow in boundaries is clear in Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide. Located on both sides of the Belgian-Dutch border, this nature reserve covers about 60 km², but feels borderless, endless. Perhaps because of the great diversity in the landscape, consisting of heathland, fens, forests and land dunes. Rare breeding birds such as the woodlark, nightjar and black woodpecker find a home here. The area's rich ecological and cultural-historical value makes it an indispensable link in the European Natura 2000 network, which permanently protects the most valuable natural areas.
