Working together, building and enjoying on the Grenspark MTB trails
On Saturday 17 May 2025, we are inviting everyone with a heart for mountain biking to a joint job day. Children, young people and adults are welcome to join in and network on this day. This active and connecting day will focus on trail maintenance, riding fun and cooperation in nature. Whether you have helped before or are curious about what trail building is all about, you are welcome! The event is organised by the Grenspark Trail Builders in collaboration with Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide.

Besides helping on the trails, you can participate in a cosy barbecue and a social ride with the crew. With this introduction day, we want to introduce young and old to trail-building and hope to welcome new volunteers who want to come and help out regularly.

What's on the programme?

09:30 - 13:00 | Time to Dig
We start the day at the Poort Volksabdij Ossendrecht). After a short instruction, you will head into the forest with experienced trailbuilders to start working on a new section of trail around the decking. Think about shaping turns, improving flow and making the trail more challenging.

13:00 - 14:30 | Time to Eat
Outdoor barbecue, including vegetarian options, and refreshing drinks offered by the crew.

14:30 - 16:00 | Time to Ride
Mountain bike ride on the blue route (optional).

Practical

Start location: Poort Volksabdij, Onze Lieve Vrouw Ter Duinenlaan 199, 4641 RM Ossendrecht
Sign up: Complete the online registration form before 10 May. A few days before the event, you will receive a practical e-mail with more information.
What to bring. Work clothes, gloves and - if you are cycling with us - your own mountain bike. We will provide the tools (shovels and rakes).

In case of bad weather, we will let you know in time whether the event will take place.
