This walking path is ideal for those seeking peace and quiet. Wandelpad Duin takes you to the heart of the silence area in the Grenspark. You first walk through vast heathlands. This is a landscape with a changing face, grey, silent and deserted in winter, blooming in beautiful purple colours in late summer. Further on, precious dune massifs await. The sand is atomised by the wind and has many surprises in store: fast running beetles, beautiful solitary trees but just as much the view of hushed, wide expanses of sand. You pass the Vossenbergen and Wilgenduinen, which were once much higher sand dunes but were lowered by earlier sand reclamations. You walk a short distance along the Verbindingsstraat. Climb the new watchtower of Natuurpunt to look for birds in the area and on the Stappersven. Returning you pass meadows and the quiet forest of the Markgraaf. This footpath runs partly through grazing land. Dogs are therefore not allowed.
