Are you impaired? Even with a physical disability, you can enjoy the silence and beauty of the heathland. Walking Path Caterpillar is accessible with a special electric all-terrain wheelchair or 'Cadweazle', which you can borrow free of charge from De Vroente upon reservation. With the easy-to-control Cadweazle, you first drive through the open sand to the Putse Moer fen. Enjoy the peace around the fen and the glistening water. Then the path takes you through the heathland to the fire tower. On the way, enjoy singing birds and wide views. Return to the starting point via the silence of the forest and open dunes.
PS: Due to the loose sand, Hiking Path Caterpillar is not accessible with an ordinary electric wheelchair.
PS: 'I didn't think I would ever be able to see the Heide again, but thanks to the Cadweazle I can. Thank you.' Marie-Christine, 92 years old.
