Meeting for Grenspark hosts, hostesses and nature guides

On Tuesday 18 November 2025, the Grenspark and IVN Natuureducatie organised the autumn meeting for the hosts, hostesses and nature guides of Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide. This edition took place in the renovated De Vroente, the Sustainable Education Point and visitor centre of the Grenspark. De Vroente is also one of the welcome points for the Geopark Schelde Delta.

The afternoon's theme was 'Discover, experience and live the Grenspark'. This theme came to life in a programme that nicely brought together information, meeting and experience.

After an update on current projects by director-director Jan Weverbergh, guides Eddy and Ingrid, together with guide dog Ubi, took the group along the Vlinder footpath, which has been specially constructed for the blind and visually impaired. With simulation glasses and a guide stick for the blind, participants could experience for themselves how rich the nature of the Grenspark is when you rely mainly on senses.

Back at De Vroente, Patrick gave a fascinating tour of the Bee Expo, while Thomas explained the many possibilities of Visit Kalmthout.

We concluded the successful meeting with drinks and snacks. Thanks to all present for the enthusiasm, commitment and valuable connections made.
