The Buizerd takes the walker 6.6 km through woodland, past old lanes and open farmland. You walk a bit through heathland, but De Buizerd mainly introduces you to the meadows of Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide.
This walk is located in the Steertse Heide. You can leave from parking Noord in the Verbindingsstraat on the Essen side. The sound of birds and the wind in the trees accompany you throughout the walk and, if you are lucky, you might even see a buzzard or a roe deer. On this walk, you will probably find the most quiet spots in all of the Grenspark Park. That's because De Buizerd is the furthest away from existing (high-speed) roads. Hiking trail Buzzard largely runs together with a bridleway.
