This trail is ideal for those seeking peace and quiet. The Dune trail takes you to the heart of silence in the Grenspark. You first walk through vast heathlands. This is a landscape with an everchanging face: it is grey in winter, quiet and deserted but in late summer it blooms in beautiful purple colours. Land dunes await you further on. The sand is sprayed by the wind and has many surprises in store: fast beetles, beautiful solitary trees but also the scenic view of tranquil, wide sand plains. You pass the Vossenbergen and Wilgenduinen, which were once much higher sand dunes, but were lowered by sand exploitations in the past. You then shortly walk along Verbindingsstraat. Climb the new watchtower of Natuurpunt to spot birds in the area and on the fen (Stappersven). While returning you come across meadows and the quiet forest of De Markgraaf. This trail traverses a grazing area. Dogs are therefore not allowed.
