This short walk (3 km) through the relatively recently established Kortenhoeff nature reserve takes you through a mix of woodland and heathland. Enjoy the peace and quiet on a wooden bench by one of the ponds you’ll come across along this route. On quiet, early mornings, the wooden bench is almost a magical spot. Among other things, you’ll pass the Wasven, a fen that got its name because sheep and their wool used to be washed here. Due to soil depletion and variations in the terrain, various rare plant species can be found here, such as sundew, cottongrass and marsh marigold.

Along the way, you’ll come across posts with a QR code. Scan this code with your phone. A forest story or a video message from the forest ranger will then automatically appear on your screen. The walk starts at the route’s starting point, the car park on Abdijlaan, where you’ll find the first QR code.
