New hosts for Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide

  • Thursday 16 September 2021

Thirteen participants from twelve different businesses in and around the Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide have successfully completed the Landscape Host Course. The new hosts from Flanders and the Netherlands officially joined the network of Grenspark hosts and hostesses by signing the agreement with the Grenspark.

Together with IVN, Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide organised a third hospitality course for recreational entrepreneurs around the Grenspark this year.

Recreationists are increasingly looking for a special and authentic experience. For this, it is important that recreational entrepreneurs respond to the special qualities and story of their environment, in this case Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide. During the IVN course Host of the Landscape, the entrepreneurs got to work on storytelling and exploring their own environment. They also took part in a joint cycling tour along special natural gems in the Kalmthoutse Heide.

On the final evening of the course, at the De Vroente visitor centre in Kalmthout, all participants gave a presentation on a special place or area near their own farm.

After these inspiring and surprising presentations, the participants were presented with certificates and plaques by Jan Weversbergh - Coordinator Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide. Finally, the evening ended in a very special way by attending the wonderful nature theatre performance KUDDE.

The Grenspark now has a total of 38 hosts who, as ambassadors of the area, faultlessly direct visitors to the most beautiful spots of Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide. The businesses of the hosts are located in both holiday accommodation, catering, relaxation, bicycle rental, tourist information offices and museums.
