New 'Hospitable in the Landscape' course autumn 2026
Starting in September, Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide organises, in cooperation with IVN Natuureducatie, the course Hospitable in the Landscape of Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide.
With this course, the Grenspark wants to further strengthen cooperation with recreation and catering entrepreneurs in and around the area. Entrepreneurs discover how they can make their guests enjoy the area's special nature and rich culture even better.
Discover the Grenspark
Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide is a unique 60 km² nature reserve on the Belgian-Dutch border. It is an ideal destination for day recreation or a longer stay in nature. Vast heathlands, fens, dunes, forests, meadows and polders alternate and offer visitors plenty of space to catch their breath: on foot, by bike or on horseback. As an entrepreneur, you play an important role in your guests' experience. With the course, we want to help you show visitors around the area even better and introduce them to the many natural and cultural stories in the Grenspark .
What can you expect?
During four inspiring half-day sessions you will learn about the history of the area, its cultural history, its natural values and current developments within the Grenspark. The programme combines theory, practical assignments, guest speakers and excursions guided by foresters and other area experts.
It will start on 22 September 2026.
Become a Host or Hostess of the Grenspark
Afterwards you will receive the official certificate and the signboard Gastvrij in Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide.
You can also benefit from various advantages:
- visibility on the Grenspark digital experience map;
- a valuable network of fellow entrepreneurs;
- Participation in inspiring theme and network meetings, which are organised twice a year;
- up-to-date knowledge about the area that you can use to inform your guests even better.
Meanwhile, more than 35 entrepreneurs are already part of the network of hosts and hostesses of Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide.
