Are you between 5 and 9 years old and do you love nature and being creative? Then you are most welcome at Het Zonneveld for a special discovery in green!
Together with Kalmthout illustrator Emily Thilly, we will go in search of inspiration outside in farm nature. Wild herbs, flowers, insects, tree bark, leaves, ... or will you spot a hare? Everything is art, as long as you look closely. We will discover colours, shapes and textures in the field, along the fen and in the woodland lane. We will use these to create creative works of art (or 1 big work of art?).
The activity is free, but places are limited. Register quickly to ensure your spot.
About the Zonneveld
The Zonneveld uses (micro)agriculture as a lever for more biodiversity on a farmer's field. We provided KLEs such as wood edges and a natural buffer wadi, eliminated the fertilisation of the grassland and mowed in phases, cultivated regeneratively, ... Now we are gradually seeing flora and fauna return (although we still have a long way to go) and we like to let young children discover this in a playful and expressive way!
Fascinated by botany, nature management and landscape development, we get to work with principles such as permaculture, nature-inclusive and regenerative agriculture. A self-sufficient farm with its own cultivation of seed crops is the starting point of the project. This makes Het Zonneveld a creative testing ground for culinary, colourful and rarer flavours every season. No use of pesticides, fertilisers or intensive tillage is a matter of course.
