The Agency for Nature and Forests purchased 60 ha of the forests and meadows of the De Markgraaf estate in early 2020 as an extension of the Kalmthoutse Heide nature reserve. As a result, the nature management plan has been supplemented and expanded and the accessibility scheme has been amended.
The management plan describes the natural and heritage values present in the domain and provides a development vision for their preservation and enhancement. The plan indicates the measures with which management will be carried out over the next 24 years.
The management plan can be consulted from 1 February to 5 March 2021 at www.grensparkkalmthoutseheide.com/en/interreg-project-canape or on paper at the environmental department of the municipality of Kalmthout, Kerkeneind 13 in Kalmthout. This can only be done by appointment. You can make an appointment at milieu@kalmthout.be.
Comments or objections can be sent during the public consultation period to the Agency for Nature and Forests, Lange Kievitstraat 111-113, 2018 Antwerp, or to Tim.Audenaert@vlaanderen.be.
