Last Wednesday, the IVN course on Youth Nature Guiding began at Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide.
During this training course, participants learn all the skills needed to take children and young people out into nature in an inspiring way. Central to this is the ability to convey enthusiasm, a sense of wonder and a love of nature to young participants.

Various volunteer groups are active in and around the Grenspark , organising nature education activities for children and young people. Upon completion of the course, participants can join one of these providers of youth activities.
The first session focused on the power of wonder. Participants were introduced to the Flow Learning methodology, which was both explained and experienced in practice. Attention was also paid to the role of the facilitator within a group and to the different ways in which children experience nature and feel a connection with it: through their minds, hearts, hands and gut.
The first day of the course provided the participants with many new insights, knowledge and practical experiences. In the coming period, they will be putting what they have learnt into practice during a work placement. The experiences they gain there will form the basis for the next sessions of the course.
At the ‘ Grenspark ’, dozens of volunteers are dedicated to nature and the experience of nature. Are you also interested in becoming a volunteer at Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide?
