Until when is the heather in bloom?
Although the exact flowering period of the heathland can vary annually, it usually extends from mid-August to mid-September. This means you still have a few weeks to enjoy the beautiful purple heather landscapes in Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide. In the Grenspark, you can choose from no fewer than 28 signposted walking routes, ranging from a short lunch break to a challenging day trip. Want to admire the typical heath landscapes? Then choose a walking route with heathland biotope.
Let us enjoy your heathland photos and share them via social media with the hashtag #GrensparkKalmthoutseHeide and tag @grensparkkalmthoutseheide. Or send an e-mail to grenspark. Who knows, maybe your photo will soon appear in our collection.
While you enjoy the colours and scents of this spectacle to the full, we would kindly ask you to treat nature with extreme care. Stay on the paths to protect the fragile flora and fauna. Do not leave any litter behind and keep your four-legged friend on a leash. Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide is freely accessible between sunrise and sunset. Nature is grateful to you.
Enjoy the purple splendour!
