At the Nolse Duinen, Natuurpunt is working in cooperation with Grenspark Kalmhtoutse Heide to increase nature values. A monotonous forest concealed a rich relief and a surprising opportunity for shifting sand restoration. By transforming the Nolse Duinen back into land dunes, the woodlark, sandhill beetles, among others, will get a more spacious and robust habitat. They are low-visibility but very striking species for Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide.
With the European LIFE project HELVEX, the Grenspark and partners at both national borders (Natuurpunt, Agency for Nature & Forests and Natuurmonumenten) are joining forces to enhance nature values. The project is nearing its end. Accompanied by a nature guide, you will walk through the Nolse Duinen and learn more about the development works and how management will evolve after these large-scale interventions.
