This route starts at the entrance gate 'De Vroente', on the parking lot of the Kalmthoutse Heide where the visitors' building with the Visit Kalmthout service, the Nature Education Centre and the Beekeeping Museum is located. You first cycle along a hilly gravel path through the eastern forest edge of the Grenspark via the tree-lined Kastanjedreef past the historic De Markgraaf estate. From here, you cycle on to De Ster where several footpaths lead into the nature reserve.
Further on, you cycle through areas where peat used to be mined. The street name Turfvaartlaan speaks for itself. Via the open landscape of Zwanenberg and a pleasant ride through the village centre, rural Heikant forms the link to the residential park forest Dennendael. Via Heide station, you drive through Withoefse Heide, back to De Vroente.
