From 17 May to 25 May, we celebrate nature in and around Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide! For a whole week, we will highlight the incredible diversity of plants and animals. We seize four special moments to pay extra attention to the wealth of species in the area: World Bee Day on 20 May, Natura 2000 Day on 21 May, the International Day of Biodiversity on 22 May and the European Day of Parks on 24 May.
Reason enough to put nature in the spotlight. Together with our educational partners, we have put together an exciting programme. Go out with a nature guide, search for rare plants and animals, make a work of nature art, get inspired during fascinating lectures, look for moths at twilight,... There is a wide range of activities for young and old to experience nature in a unique way.
Within the Beleefweek, you can participate in a species challenge: together with the 21 Dutch National Parks, Agency for Nature and Forests and Natuurpunt, we will count as many species as possible in nature. All counts submitted via the app ObsIdentify, via waarneming.nl or waarnemingen.be count. The results of the species challenge in the Grenspark can be consulted via this link. The challenge starts on 9 May and ends on 31 May. Do stay on the paths during your search, especially in the breeding season, so as not to disturb nature.
To celebrate and admire all this natural beauty, you can take part in various activities focusing on biodiversity. Do you really want to experience nature? Below you will find all the activities you can participate in during the Experience Week.

The Beleefweek is organised by Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide and IVN Natuureducatie, together with educational Flemish and Dutch partners.
