New host/hostess course at Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide

  • Tuesday 21 May 2024

What makes the area in which you do business special? Which nature, landscape and culture (history) characterise your area? And how can you translate this knowledge into concrete products, services or arrangements for your guests? As a recreational entrepreneur, how do you contribute to the promotion of your area? You will learn all this - and much more - in the Course Host/Guestess of Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide, organised by IVN and Grenspark! This 4-day course will start on 24 September especially for (recreation) entrepreneurs around Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide.

"We enjoyed following the course of the Hostmanship of Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide, it turned out to be an excellent opportunity and fine experience to get to know fellow hosts/women and brush up on our knowledge about the Grenspark." Kato - Hotel Jerom Kalmthout

"By taking the Grenspark 's Hostmanship course, I have learned a lot more about the area around my business. As an entrepreneur, you don't have the time to discover everything yourself. I also find the contacts among myself with the other hosts very useful, the annual return days organised by the Grenspark provide a nice platform to maintain these relationships." Marie - Louise - Camping Costa Kabrita Huijbergen

"This course was hugely enriching. Not only in terms of content but also because of the valuable contacts made. You think you might know your own region, but turns out you can always learn a lot more." Krosje - Holiday home BeWildert - Essen

Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide
Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide is a unique, cross-border nature reserve on both sides of the Belgian-Dutch border. Over the centuries, natural processes and human hands have shaped the landscape. The result is a dynamic landscape with unique natural phenomena and cultural history from times gone by. Not for nothing has a large part of this special, cross-border landscape been designated a Natura 2000 area. Many partners are working together to expand the quality of tourism and increase the area's experienceability. This offers wonderful opportunities for businesses in the tourism and recreation sector!

What does the Grenspark Host Course involve?
The course consists of 4 half-days packed with information and interaction. Together with other entrepreneurs, you will learn about the origins and special nature of the Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide through field excursions, guest speakers and assignments. Every participant will receive a reference book on Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide, which can also be used by your guests. After the course, you will receive a certificate and plaque.

As host/hostess of Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide, your company will be listed on our website. After the course, we will continue to build together on the joint promotion and experience of Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide, so that residents and visitors can discover the most beautiful spots. You will have the opportunity to put your special offer in the shop window and increase the experience and visibility of the Grenspark together. You will also become part of the national IVN network 'Hospitable in the Landscape' and you can participate in the thematic and network meetings organised twice a year.

For whom?
An unmissable course for entrepreneurs and their employees who enthusiastically work in, among other things, the hospitality, recreation and tourism sectors around Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide. Both small and large companies, (mini) campsites, holiday parks, catering entrepreneurs, hotels, B&Bs, tea gardens, agro-recreational entrepreneurs, museums, but also companies focused on health and well-being both in the Netherlands and in Belgium.
